'Reflect, Respect, Celebrate– We’re all part of the story.'
This year's national Australia Day theme calls on Australians to reflect, respect and celebrate. On Australia Day, we reflect on our nation’s past which began more than 65,000 years ago, the impact of European settlement on our First Australians and the waves of immigration that have helped us become one of the world’s greatest multicultural success stories.
At the same time, we respect the contributions of all Australians and we celebrate by coming together and connecting with our family, friends, and our community.
Join us in Northam to celebrate together:
Morning Program (8am-10am)-
• Citizenship Ceremony
• Presentation of the Community Citizen of the Year Awards
• Free multicultural breakfast
• In attendance will be Australia Day Ambassador, Clinical Professor Mark Newman, Finalist WA Australian of the Year 2021. Professor Newman is a cardiothoracic surgeon who started the Heart and Lung Surgery unit at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 1993 and remains the Head of Department.
