Opening on the 6th of August at the Northam Visitors Centre is an exhibition by Perth artist, Dita E Hagedorn. Dita Hagedorn is a great example of an Impressionist artist using her photographic form of Digital Photo Art. The definition of an impressionist artist is someone who is not trying to paint a reflection of real life, but an 'impression' of what the person, light, atmosphere, object or landscape might look like to them.
Her work is a variety of genuinely abstract and unusual ideas. Using a camera, artistic lenses, camera techniques and editing software to create her work, you can truly see her originality in every image. To Dita, the possibilities of editing photographs are endless. It’s like stepping out of the normal into a sometimes blurry world of unreal places and things.
