If you have thought about becoming a Local Government Councillor but weren't sure what was involved or if it was for you, then you should register for a free webinar provided by the West Australian Local Government Association (WALGA).
The webinar provides a quick view of important topics like:
- An overview of Local Government
- The Roles and Responsibilities of Council and Council Members
- Behavioural expectations of Elected Members
- The skills required to be a successful Councillor, and
- The impact on home life
The Shire of Northam would like to encourage the Ballardong Noongar people and all cultural groups to consider nominating to become an elected member.

The Shire of Northam will be holding the webinar in the Council Chambers at 395 Fitzgerald Street, Northam.
