The Wundowie and surrounding community celebrate their rich industrial history each year with the Wundowie Iron Festival. The festival began years ago as an opportunity to showcase local artists and has developed in recent times to incorporate the community’s link to the Charcoal, Iron and Steel Mill which was foundered in 1948. The Wundowie Progress Association aim to continue to grow the Festival each year with the addition of a variety of competitions and entertainment for the local and surrounding communities to enjoy. Wundowie is situated in the wonderful Shire of Northam, approximately 30 kms east of Mundaring and 32kms west of Northam. Set amongst dense bushland, Wundowie makes an ideal spot for a day trip and as each year goes by the number of attendees to our Iron Festival grows. Many food vendors and stall holders join the event each year and entries in the art and craft competitions increase.
