SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

Please be informed that the Shire of Northam will be holding a Special Council Meeting to consider motorised mobility device access at the Northam Library and the hockey artificial turf tender.

Details of this meeting are as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 27 February 2019

Time: 7:00pm

Place: Shire of Northam Council Chambers, 395 Fitzgerald Street, Northam

Purpose:                  

  1. To consider motorised mobility device access at the Northam Library; and
  2. To consider the hockey artificial turf tender.

The meeting is open to the public.

PROHIBITED BURNING

Please be advised that the Prohibited season has been extended until the 17th March 2019 with a possible further extension of another 14 days till 31st March 2019.

PARTIAL ROAD CLOSURE – IRISHTOWN ROAD WORKS

Please be advised that partial road closures will be in place from Monday 11th February 2019 for a period of 2 weeks during the hours of 6:30am and 4:30pm weekdays to for clearing works to take place.

Speed restrictions and lane closures will be in place and some traffic delays may be incurred.  Please observe traffic management in the area at all times.  A map detailing location is available here.

ROAD CLOSURE – FITZGERALD STREET WORKS

Please be advised that Fitzgerald Street will be partially closed from 18th February 2019 for a period of 3 weeks to facilitate the realignment of Fitzgerald Street.

Traffic will be 1 lane only in a Northbound direction.  Pedestrian will still be accessable on both sides. There will be limited access for traffic during this period.

Please observe traffic management in the area.

COURTS CLOSED - WUNDOWIE

The Wundowie basketball/netball courts are undergoing much needed resurfacing work. Unfortunately this requires the courts to be closed for an extended period of time whilst the work is completed and then it is necessary to allow for curing time before they can be reopened. It is anticipated that the improved courts will be ready for play again by mid March 2019.

PROHIBITED BURNING

The Shire of Northam wishes to advise all residents that pursuant to S17 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, as of December 1st 2018 we will enter the "Prohibited Burning Period". No burning is permitted within the Shire of Northam during this period. Please report all signs of fire to 000.
