Teach Learn Grow Week

Posted on: Monday, 22 October 2018 at 10:35:30 AM

From the 2nd of December to the 8th of December, a small group of volunteers from Perth will be coming to Avonvale Primary school to tutor selected students across Years 1 to 6 and be their mentor for one week, on behalf of Teach Learn Grow’s Rural Program. To students, this exciting week is also known as TLG Week, where students can learn about a variety of career opportunities and also engage in fun one-on-one tuition of mathematics based on the West Australian Curriculum outcome, selected by teachers for each student. The goal of TLG Week and these learning experiences is to encourage students’ involvement and attendance at school, as well as widen their future aspirations so that all students can reach their educational potential. These learning activities written for TLG Week are all based on the West Australian outcome.

Teach Learn Grow also provides another program called eMentor, which aims to provide selected upper primary school students with a role model and increase their student resilience, improve personal and social capabilities, and enhance their emotional intelligence.

All programs are sponsored and fundraised, so that Teach Learn Grow can achieve a vision of an Australia where all children, regardless of background, location or circumstance, can reach their educational potential. With a recent expansion to NSW, TLG is excited to provide eMentor and Rural Programs to all rural communities in Australia. If you’d like to contribute,  please spread our message, follow our social media or donate at www.teachlearngrow.org.au/donate so you can be part of a journey where we can all #BridgeTheGap in Australia.
