The Northam Aquatic Facility is set to officially open on Saturday, 25th January 2020 at 1.00pm. The Hon. Christian Porter MP will officially open the Facility which will be open for swimming immediately following the official opening.

The deadline for Expressions of Interest - Membership on Council Committee’s has now been extended to the 8th January. Council is seeking expressions of interest from community members to become community representatives on the Community Safety Committee and Nyoongar Advisory Committee.

The Shire of Northam advises that some services will be closed over the Christmas period.

The Shire of Northam wishes to advise that in consultation with the Volunteer Bush Fire Control Officers, The PROHIBITED BURNING PERIOD will be brought forward by one (1) week and will start on the 25th Nov 2019.

The Shire of Northam has undertaken a targeted spraying program to control the listed ‘pest plant’ Watsonia. Outbreaks were identified and sprayed within the Northam town site, Clackline, Bakers Hill and adjacent to El Cabello in an attempt to manage the plant throughout the Shire.

The Shire has recommenced the Wundowie to Northam (via Bakers Hill & Clackline) Community Transport. Operating every Thursday. Bookings are essential. Call 6608 0234 to book your seat.

The Shire of Northam would like to advise that hazard reduction burning will be taking place within the Northam Town site over the coming weeks as the local Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service and the Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades prepare the community for the upcoming bush fire season.

The Shire of Northam is pleased to announce that Cr Chris Antonio has been re-elected to continue in his role as Shire President and Cr Julie William has been elected to the position of Deputy Shire President.
