Community Safety Survey

Published on Tuesday, 24 August 2021 at 1:39:09 PM

In May 2021 the Shire of Northam undertook its biennial community perception survey. Thank you to everyone who completed a survey and provided us with valuable feedback on our performance in a range of areas. You provided the Shire of Northam with a lot of information, including what your highest priorities are, the areas we are performing well in, and the areas where we need to improve. Over the next few months, we will be releasing outcomes of the survey back to the community.
As can be seen below Community Safety & Crime Prevention was identified as a high priority for the community, as has been the case in previous perception surveys.
Community Perceptions Survey
We are now undertaking a more detailed and specific community safety & crime prevention survey. The purpose of this survey is to identify the primary safety concerns of the Shire of Northam community and to hear what measures you would like to see taken to help improve your feelings of safety in the community. Whilst we acknowledge that there are many aspects to community safety including emergency/natural disaster management, community health and wellbeing and injury prevention, this survey focuses on criminal activity, anti-social behaviour and the perception of crime. The findings of the survey will be used to inform the development of the new Shire of Northam Community Safety & Crime Prevention Plan.

Surveys close 10 September 2021.
