The Shire of Northam is currently in a RESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD. All burning activities require a permit and applications will only be accepted from primary producers (Agricultural) only. No single cubic meter burns accepted. For more information and to apply for a permit, click HERE.
Burning permits will be suspended for the 24 hour period on the following days for the Easter Holiday
The Northam Waterpark's last day of operation will be Sunday, 14 April 2024.
The Wundowie Pool's current swim season ends on Sunday, 7 April 2024. Dive in for one last splash before we close for the season!

The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) has asked DLGSC to advise local governments of changes to ban the outdoor use of single-use plastic promotional film for short term applications from June 2024.
The Shire of Northam wishes to advise that works are scheduled to commence on Monday 25 March 2024 between the hours of 9:30am β 1:00pm for the construction of the shared path on Kennedy Street, Northam.
Both the Northam Aquatic Facility and Wundowie Pool will have altered operational hours over the Easter weekend.

The Shire of Northam has engaged architects to undertake a Streetscape Concept Plan for the Northam Central Business District. The plans are now available for public comment and review.
The State government has recently announced that they are proposing to make changes to the Residential Design Codes to provide exemptions for compliant granny flats. These exemptions apply to planning legislation only and do not apply to building or other legislation. The final documents have not yet been released publicly and therefore if you have any enquiries about the changes, you should contact the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage. Β
