At the 15 February 2017 Ordinary Council meeting, the Shire of Northam passed a motion to review the following local laws relating to:
Proposed Activities in Thoroughfares and Public Places and Trading Local Law
Proposed Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law

The Shire of Northam has prepared the following draft Local Planning Policy and public comments are invited:
Local Planning Policy No.23 – ‘Extractive Industry’. The purpose of the Policy is to provide development controls for the establishment, operation and rehabilitation of Extractive Industries in the General Industry, Rural and Rural Smallholding zones as identified by the Scheme.

Bakers Hill Community Plan

The Shire of Northam is working in partnership with the Bakers Hill Progress Association to develop a 10 year Plan for the Bakers Hill Community 2017-2027.

The Plan will be used to inform Council of priority capital expenditure items and projects so it is vital that community members have their say on what the town needs to improve liveability.

Proposed Changes to local laws, dogs and cemeteries - click here

At the 25 January 2017 Ordinary Council meeting, the Shire of Northam made a decision to review the following local laws relating to:
1. Dogs
2. Cemeteries
A copy of the proposed changes to the local laws may be inspected by downloading the attached documents, or obtained from the Shire Office at 395 Fitzgerald Street Northam between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and at any public library within the Shire of Northam during normal opening hours.
Submissions about the proposed changes to the local laws may be made in writing prior to Monday 20 March 2017 to CEO Jason Whiteaker or comments may be lodged in the comments setion of this website.

The Shire of Northam is calling on residents to have their say on the future of the locality of Wundowie.

Wundowie Community Plan 2016-2026 Open for Comment

The Wundowie Community Plan 2016-2026 is the principal planning document to inform Council on priority projects over the next 10 years for the Wundowie locality. Extensive community consultation has been used to create the Plan. Now it is in draft form and the Wundowie community is invited to provide comment on the current draft. Comments will be incorporated and the final Plan will be presented to the community in a public forum in the new year.
