The Northam Bilya Festival is a vibrant celebration held each August as part of the Avon Descent Festival. Set along Minson Avenue, right outside the Bilya Koort Boodja Centre, the event brings together the community to honour the cultural significance of the Avon River and mark the beginning of one of Australia’s most exciting sporting events the Avon Descent, which kicks off Saturday morning.
This much-loved festival is powered by the passion of local businesses, community groups, and volunteers, creating a colourful and inclusive evening for all ages.

From 6:00 PM along Fitzgerald Street – a showcase of creativity, costumes, and community pride.

A dazzling display to light up the night sky.
