Option 1 - Great for Adrenaline Lovers (and bigger kids)

  • Take an exciting morning balloon flight over the picturesque Avon Valley
  • Strap-in and get ready for an adrenaline rush at the Avon Valley Rally School
  • Take to the skies in a breath-taking helicopter flight to see the stunning Avon Valley from a truly unique perspective
  • Experience unique horse-riding trails at Green Gables Stables (No experience is necessary)
  • Head out to the Northam Aero Club for an exciting flying lesson.
  • Escape the heat and ride the four big water slides and at the Northam Aquatic Centre.
  • BMX is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia. Northam’s state of the art BMX track offers thrills (and spills) for experienced BMXers.
  • Northam Youth Precinct features a skate bowl, ramps, parkour, half-court basketball, table tennis, flying fox, BBQ facilities and shade for a picnic. It’s the perfect play areas for kids big and small.
  • Head for a delicious dinner in a friendly local pub

Option 2 - For the Connoisseurs

  • Discover the many historical buildings on a self-guided drive trail, experiencing everything from beautifully designed gothic pieces of history to the only Iwanoff buildings outside of the metro area
  • Immerse yourself in Northam’s rich military, political, cultural, and architectural history on a self-guided walking tour
  • Visit Northam’s very first house. Morby Cottage is a perfectly preserved piece of Northam’s history and offers something of interest to everyone.
  • Call in to the Northam Heritage Centre to learn about the History of Northam and look around the beautifully preserved railway displays. Enter the train carriages and climb aboard the engine of a steam locomotive.
  • Stroll down Fitzgerald Street to find all the sculptures and discover the history of some of Northam’s historic buildings. Visit one of the smaller towns outside of the Northam townsite to visit pieces of living history such as the WWII military sites in Spencers Brook, Industrial sites in Clackline and Wundowie, or Culturally significant sites in various locations around the Shire.
  • Pop into the Northam Visitor Centre to visit the interesting History of Ballooning or Sense of Place exhibits
  • Spend some time learning about Nyoongar culture and the local environment at Bilya Koort Boodja
  • Visit the many surrounding Avon Valley towns to bask in the early history of Western Australia
  • Take a trip to a local winery or micro-brewery for a real taste of Northam, or pop into the Visitor Centre to purchase some local produce.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of our many historic pubs

Option 3 - Great for Art Lovers

  • Head out on a self-guided art trail tour to see the many murals, sculptures and art installations around the Shire.
  • Spend a morning soaking up the culture and knowledge at Bilya Koort Boodja, and take part in one of their regular creative workshops.
  • Visit the Northam Visitor Centre to browse the artworks for sale in the gallery by talented local artists
  • Take part in one of the many Avon Valley Arts Society creative workshops, or visit their gallery to see what they’ve got going on.
  • Catch a show at the Link Theatre.
  • Spend your evening at one of our many exquisite dining and drinks venues from anything to a pub feed with a pint to fine dining with the wine or cocktail of your choice.
