The Planning Department at the Shire of Northam plays a fundamental role in creating a high quality urban and rural environment by ensuring that development and land use proposals are appropriate for the area. All properties in the Shire of Northam are zoned under the Town Planning Scheme No. 6
The scheme sets out the types of use and development allowed in the different zones and the requirements for planning approval. Before a decision is made to construct any type of building or change current land uses, it is recommended that the Planning Section is contacted on (08) 9622 6100 or visit the Shires offices at 395 Fitzgerald Street, Northam between the hours of 8.30 am and 4.30 pm or by emailing your enquiry to [email protected].
