Shire of Northam Clubs

Sports Club Development

The Shire of Northam in partnership with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries recently funded a Club Development Officer to support local clubs and work towards a sustainable and prosperous future for sport and recreation in the region.

DLGSC’s Every Club Grant Scheme provides funding that enables organisations to support sport and recreation clubs to build their organisational capacity and capability with a focus on governance, planning and management practices. The grant scheme is part of the broader Every Club Program aimed at providing a holistic, accessible, and sustainable model of club support to sport and recreation clubs across Western Australia.

Shire of Northam Clubs

As part of this process the Shire of Northam has created a new group on its Facebook group to provide a one stop resource for all affiliated clubs and residents. You can find the group here.

We encourage all clubs to utilise this group to share events, fundraisers and key dates so we can enhance the important role our clubs provide to the community via sport and recreation.

This group will also provide a great resource for new residents of the Shire of Northam in locating a sport or recreational activity.

State and local government will contribute to this group, as will other relevant resources regarding grant funding, volunteering and good governance to name just a few.

In our continued efforts to support our local sport and recreation activities, a snapshot of important events and resources will also be provided by our e-newsletter (coming soon)
