For engineering design and construction compliance of subdivision developments within the Shire of Northam, developers should refer to the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia WA (IPWEA) Local Government (Engineering) Guidelines (Edition 2.2) which is the minimum standard in cases where the WAPC is asked to clear subdivision engineering conditions under S145 of the Planning & Development Act.

In addition to the minimum IPWEA requirements the Shire of Northam has adopted minimum standards which have been endorsed by Council to serve as an annexure to the IPWEA Guidelines. A copy of these can be obtained on the following link.
