NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEVY DIFFERENTIAL RATES 2020/21

The Shire of Northam hereby gives notice in accordance with section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995, of its intention to levy differential rates and minimum rates for the 2020/21 financial year, including a rate on all Northam Town and Avon Industrial Park properties with a predominant land use, in accordance with Shire of Northam Local Planning Scheme Number 6 of commercial, industrial, community purposes to raise an amount of $127,000 to fund the Northam Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of promoting Northam Businesses, for the 2020/21 financial year. Details of the various rate categories are available for public inspection at the Shire’s Administration Office and are as follows:

As a consequence of the COVID-19 council has resolved to freeze the rate in the dollar and minimum rates at those imposed in 2019/20 Financial Year. The figures shown above are estimates and may change as part of Council’s budget deliberation.  A statement of objectives and reasons for adopting the above rates is available for inspection at the Office of Council.
