Inkpen Road Waste Management Facility will be closed on weekdays until further notice due to staff and contractor availability. Weekend opening hours will remain unchanged. If you require waste disposal facilities during the week until this matter is resolved, the Old Quarry Road facility is open 7 days between 8am and 4.30pm (last entry 4.15pm) We apologise for any inconvenience caused. This occurrence has been unavoidable, and we will endeavour to resume normal operations as soon as possible.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2005 NOTICE OF PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT OF DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO DEVELOPMENT APPROVAL Notice is hereby given for public information and comment that the Shire of Northam has received an application to amend the development approval for the existing free-range broiler poultry farm at Lot 13 Northam-York Road, Muluckine. The proposed amendments increase the number of sheds on Farms 1 and 3 from 4 to 6 sheds and removes Farm 4 from the approved development with the number of overall sheds remaining the same at 16. This follows recent developments in the area including the streetscape works behind DOME, provision of caravan and RV parking in Bernard Park, development of parklet alfresco dining in the main street, the development of the Village Green, murals and streetscaping in Gordon Place and on the Northam Flour Mill. As well as the development of Bilya Koort Boodja and associated streetscaping, enhancement of the Swan enclosure in Bernard Park, the development of the Bernard Park Water playground and the recently developed park in Wellington Street on the former St John Ambulance Site.
