The Shire of Northam wishes to gather expressions of interest (EOI) to establish the level of demand for a drone racing club and/or event in the Shire. Drone racing has emerged as a thrilling and high-speed sport, combining skill and technology in a competitive setting. In this sport, skilled operators use remotely controlled drones to navigate through intricate 3-D racetracks from a first-person perspective, known as FPV Racing (First Person View). The racers face the challenge of manoeuvring their drones through obstacle courses, showcasing their piloting abilities. Competitions often involve racing on timed laps, allowing racers to compare their performance based on lap times. The technical precision required in drone racing make it a captivating and rapidly growing sport.
