Background: I grew up on our family farm at Southern Brook, and have always been involved in this business, and am currently working in partnership with my brother.

Areas of Interest in Council: I am keen to see the Shire of Northam continue on its journey of growth and development. There are also many talented people and businesses within all parts of the Shire, and, where possible, I will always assist them in achieving their goals. This has been the most rewarding part of both my work and community involvement.

Professions/Occupations: I have a background in Agribusiness Finance, Risk Management and Farm Business Succession / Transition Planning. More recently, I lectured at Muresk Campus for the Charles Sturt University Bachelor of Agribusiness Management Degree and am continuing to work directly with Charles Sturt University.

Committee Membership: Audit and Risk Management Committee, CEO Review Committee, Local Emergency Management Committee and Nyoongar Cultural Advisory Group.

Community Service/Memberships: I have been involved in a number of community organisations in the past, most recently with the Southern Brook Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Northam Hockey Association and serve on community boards including Directions and Avon Community Development Foundation.

Previous Council Service: After serving the community for four years as a Councillor, and the past two years as President, I remain passionate about seeing the Northam Shire and the greater region grow. I look forward to continuing to work with the community and promote all that we achieve together.

Background: Have lived in Bakers Hill since 1995.  Married with 7 children and 1 (so far) grandchild.

Areas of Interest in Council: Improving communication/consultation between Shire and community; ensuring any developments benefit our residents and do not adversely affect the Shire environmentally, aesthetically or economically; advocating for equitable access to facilities and services across the Shire.

Professions/Occupations: Part-time bookkeeper for husband’s (Wundowie based) small business.  

Committee Membership: CEO Review Committee, Community Safety Committee and Mid-West Wheatbelt JDAP member.

Community Service/Memberships: Bakers Hill Progress and Recreation Association, Clackline Progress Association, Spencers Brook Progress Association.  Previously on school/community boards and P&C Associations.

Previous Council Service: Elected to council in 2011.

Background: My family and I moved to Northam in July 2004 and purchased our home in Northam in 2005. I was a Police Officer for nearly twenty years with the majority of my policing career being spent in the Wheatbelt Region. I left the WA Police in 2014 to pursue a career in the legal profession, serving two and half years in the Parliament of Western Australia as an Advisory Officer for the Legislative Council. I commenced my small legal practice in Northam in 2016 and I am community focused.

Areas of Interest in Council: Commerce, water and technology are my areas of interest as I would like to see the Shire of Northam grow in these areas - water management in particular has been a historical issue for us, so it would be great for the Shire to develop some long-term solutions for this issue.

Professions/Occupations: Barrister/solicitor and a Principal of a firm in Northam.

Committee Membership: Audit and Risk Management Committee, CEO Review Committee, Nyoongar Cultural Advisory Group and Mid-West Wheatbelt JDAP member.

Community Service/Membership: Member of the Chamber of Commerce and the RSL. 

Previous Council Service: Previously served as a Councillor for the Shire of Merredin.

Background: Born in Northam. He and his wife Kathy have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren so creating a lasting legacy for their futures is a key motivation for him.

Areas of Interest in Council: His diverse experience in accounting gives him a good ability to help oversee the financial, governance and positive directions of the Council. Government and private investment in the Shire has grown significantly in recent years and he is keen to continue to ensure that the benefits of that investment flows through everyone. 

Professions/Occupations: Semi-retired accountant, having spent his working career in public accounting.

Committee Membership: Audit and Risk Management Committee and Mid-West Wheatbelt JDAP (proxy member).

Community Service/Memberships: Nil.

Previous Council Service: Shire of Northam Councillor since 2007 and Shire President for 10 years to 2017.

Background: I grew up and worked on a farm and have always lived in a rural areas. My wife and I raised our family in Wundowie and we still live within the town. I Believe I am community minded and have been a member of emergency, community and sporting groups all of my life. I find this rewarding and trust I will never lose that passion.

Areas of Interest in Council: Small town beatification, community and emergency services, subdivision planning so as Council is not left with cost to rectify problems once subdivides have moved on. Regional centre attractions and tourism for the district. I am very passionate about retaining Sporing facilities and infrastructure in all towns within the Shire, large or small. I have faith in what is happening within our communities. We need to keep planning for the future and not lose sight of what we would like our communities to look like to attract people who want to live here and enjoy the rural life style.

Professions/Occupations: I grew up on a farm and worked on a farm from an early age on Kangaroo Island, South Australia. I then became a truck driver for a number of years finally becoming a Professional Fire Fighter for 31 years until I retired.

Committee Membership: Bush Fire Advisory Committee and Local Emergency Management Committee (proxy member).

Community Service/Memberships: I was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for 40 years and a member of most sporting clubs in Wundowie when things were going well. I am a member of the Wundowie and Districts Mens Shed, Wundowie Silver wings, Wundowie Club and on the Wundowie School Board. I am a life member of the Wundowie Fire and Rescue, Wundowie Football Club, Hills Football Association, Wundowie Tennis Club and Wundowie Affiliated Sports Council. I have been a Justice of the Peace for a number of years and believe I still have the passion and drive to offer something to our community.

Previous Council Service: I have had a number of years as Councillor being elected for the West Ward of the Northam Shire. I live in Wundowie and have seen our family grow up there. I was Deputy Shire President for 6 years commencing in 2011 and still enjoy being a Council representative for not only the West ward but for the Shire as a whole. I am excited in what lays ahead for the area and look forward to having input and making decisions to achieve our communities goals and expectations.

Professions/Occupations: Have a family owned funeral business and is a qualified mortuary embalmer.

Community Service/Memberships: Member Northam Chamber of Commerce, Nationals WA,Australian Funeral Directors Association, Australian Institute of Embalmers,major fundraiser for Cancer Council WA. On the committee of Northam Race Club, on boards of the Avon Industrial Park, Avon Community Development Foundation.

Previous Council Service: Elected to the Town of Northam 2003 then the new Shire of Northam in 2007 to current election.

Background: Grew up in socialist Hungary, migrated to Australia and settled in Northam 30 years ago. I raised my children and managed several family businesses in Northam for 14 years prior to gaining employment at TAFE.

Professions/Occupations: My qualifications include a Master of Professional Education and Training, Diploma in Management, Business and IT Digital Media. Since 2003 I have been working at Central Regional TAFE in Northam as an IT and business lecturer, also as Acting Business Development Manager and Principal Lecturer and currently as Advanced Skills Lecturer. 

Committee Membership: Community Safety Committee.

Community Service / Memberships: Member of the Avon Valley Art Society

Areas of Interest: I am keen to work on projects to attract investments, promote small business development, and tourism resulting in jobs. I would like to contribute to improving public and road safety, seniors, youth and childcare services and facilities and promoting community wellbeing. I am passionate about the Shire's environment, heritage, culture, and the arts.

Background: I moved to Northam from Esperance in 1997, completing my secondary schooling at Northam SHS before moving to Perth for a brief period to attend uni. On completing my studies, I returned to Northam and married my (now) wife Stefanie. We believe the Shire of Northam is the perfect place to raise our two young boys. 

Areas of Interest in Council: There are lots of positive things happening throughout the Shire of Northam and I am motivated to support our Shire to continue on this positive path. I believe the Shire of Northam is a great place to live, to work and to visit and I see economic development is a key pillar to this continuing. I am very interested in providing opportunities for our youth to improve retention rates within the Shire and nurture the next generation of employers / employees, home owners, club members and leaders.  

Professions/Occupations: Tertiary qualified Exercise Physiologist, completing studies at Edith Cowan University. My employment history has largely been in the workplace rehabilitation space, supporting injured workers in returning to gainful employment. I am currently Managing Director for two companies. 

Committee Membership: Bush Fire Advisory Committee.

Community Service/Memberships: Member of the Northam Chamber of Commerce and Wheatbelt Business Network. I actively participate in many sporting and social groups within the Shire. I also represent the Shire on the Northam Motorsport Festival Committee and Local Health Advisory Group.

Previous Council Service: I am currently serving in my first term as a Councillor, having commenced in 2017.

Background: I was born in Merredin. I worked in the Goldfields for 16 years before moving to Northam in 2006, and have lived in Bakers Hill for 2.5 years. I am married and have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. 

Areas of Interest in Council: I am interested in economic growth and continued development within the Shire - I believe being within the peri-urban arc of Perth makes the Shire a desirable location with a tree-change lifestyle. I endeavour to work for and to ensure the care, safety and welfare of all community members, good governance of the Shire, and provision of excellent facilities in all Shire towns.

Professions/Occupations: I have been the Regional Manager with the Department of Communities (Housing) for 46 years, interspersed with executive roles in land and housing development, maintenance, and service delivery in our housing corporate team.

Committee Membership: Audit and Risk Management Committee, CEO Review Committee, Community Safety Committee, Nyoongar Cultural Advisory Group, and the Local Business Support Committee.

Community Service/Memberships: Board member of Avon Community Services, Wheatbelt Community Legal Centre and Share and Care (Vice President), formerly on the board of the Wheatbelt Independent Family Support Association. I am currently the chair of the Wheatbelt District Leadership Group.

Previous Council Service: Have previously served as a City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder councillor for 5 years. Currently in my third year as councillor for the Central Ward, and cognisant of responsibility for representing the whole of the Northam Shire Community.

Area of Interest in Council: Advocate for health and aged care facilities, work closely with local law enforcement to assist with crime prevention initiatives, provide close engagement with businesses, sporting bodies and associations for our communities viability and growth for our Shire.

Professions/Occupation: Local electrical contractor covering all aspects of electrical.

Committee Membership:  Mid-West Wheatbelt JDAP (proxy member).

Community Service / Membership: Currently President of Wundowie Progress Association.
