SMS Notification - Bushfire Service

You can subscribe to Shire of Northam's free Bush Fire Information SMS Service.

This notification service will enable residents to be directly informed about changes to:

  • Burning periods
  • Total Fire Bans
  • Harvest, Vehicle movement and Hot Works Ban
  • Cancellation or suspension of Permits to Burn
  • Other Fire information all year round.

Disclaimer

This service is not an emergency warning system. Current bush fire warnings are not included in this service.

Emergency alerts will be sent from the Emergency Broadcast Network to notify people in affected areas by SMS/landline. 

Do not rely on service in the event of a bush fire emergency. Leaving early is the safest option.

You do not have to register to receive notifications from the Emergency Broadcast Network. It is sent, if you are in the area of warning.
