Open Burning Period

The Shire of Northam wishes to advise that due to improved fire weather conditions, the open burning period is in effect as of 12pm (today) 3/05/2024.
Despite the improving fire weather conditions, areas remain very dry. Safety remains a top priority. Here's what you need to know:
 
  1. Keep registering your burns by calling 9395 9209. Your reports are crucial for our preparedness.
  2. Fires must still be always monitored by at least 1 adult.
  3. Ensure all fires are fully extinguished. Don't take any chances.
  4. Although conditions are better, fire risk still lingers. Stay vigilant.
  5. Burn in manageable sizes. Let's keep it safe and controlled.
  6. Respect fire danger ratings.
  7. Call 000 for help early if needed.
  8. Have the right equipment on hand. Safety starts with preparation.
