Throssell Kerbside Service Extension

We’re pleased to advise that from 5th November 2025, the Shire of Northam will be extending
the kerbside waste collection route in Throssell and Grass Valley.

The new kerbside rubbish collection will be serviced on Wednesday’s each week.

When and what to expect:

• Our waste service provider, Avon Waste, will deliver one (1) general waste
  bin to the front of your property the week of 27th October 2025.
• You can begin placing your bin out for collection from 5th November 2025.

Service and Costs:

Good news - from 5th November 2025, residents in this area will no longer be required to pay the annual Rural Waste Levy.

• An interim rates notice for your new waste service will be issued in the coming weeks.
• Your waste facility pass for 25/26 is still usable and next year will change over to a 10
  entry pass.
• The current annual charge is $216.00 per general waste bin. If you would like to arrange
  additional bins for your property, please contact the Shire.
• Recycling collections are not available in this area, however residents will be advised if
  this service becomes available in future.
