Nominations for the 2025
Local Government Ordinary Election in the Shire of Northam will open on Thursday, 28 August 2025 and close at 4:00pm, Thursday, 4 September 2025.
The election will be held on Saturday, 18 October 2025 to fill vacancies in the Central, East and West Wards.

The Western Australian Electoral Commission are offering potential candidates the opportunity to watch an information presentation on their website in preparation for nominations.
If you are running for Council, you can watch this video for important information you’ll need to help you through the nominations process. The website also has a number of other resources that will be helpful to prospective candidates.
Following the close of nominations, Returning Officers will be available to work one on one with candidates to assist with any specific issues they have through the process.
