The Shire of Northam is pleased to announce that Northam Entertainment Group has officially taken over the lease for the site formerly occupied by Riversedge Café, located on the banks of the Avon River.
The lease agreement, signed between Northam Entertainment Group and the Shire of Northam, is for a term of five years, with the option to extend for a further five years.
Shire President Chris Antonio welcomed the new lease, stating:
“We are thrilled to enter into this lease agreement with Northam Entertainment Group for the café, and we’re excited to see how Steve and all the team revitalise the precinct by offering a new and exciting place to visit. Based on what has been achieved to date by the Northam Entertainment Group, we can't wait to see what else they've got in store for Northam with this exciting new venture.”
Planned for the site is Terra Mare, a “signature brand of flavour-packed, family-friendly Italian, with traditional pizza, rich pastas, and share plates made for digging in with the people you love.”
The hope is that Terra Mare will become a hub for the community, for families, friends, functions and more. Aside from their authentic Italian menu, the restaurant will offer live music and a variety of events throughout the year.
Northam Entertainment Group’s presence at the site is expected to further enhance the riverfront precinct, offering new experiences and services that support recreation, connection, and community engagement.
Steve Dabinett-Halliday, General Manager for Northam Entertainment Group, who are also responsible for The Rec Northam said:
"Grabbing the keys to this location is a huge moment — I can’t wait to fire up the ovens and bring proper Italian flavour to the Avon Valley.
Terra Mare is all about food, family and fun, and we’re so excited to be a bigger part of the Northam community."
Preparations are underway to revitalise the space, with further announcements to be made in the coming weeks about Terra Mare’s menu and upcoming events.
