GENERAL DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES

Notice is hereby given for public information that the Shire of Northam is proposing to amend Local Planning Policy No. 2 (LPP2).

Council at its Ordinary Council Meeting held on 19 January 2022 resolved to advertise the draft amended policy for public comment in accordance with the provisions of Local Planning Scheme No. 6.

The proposed amendments include provisions to exempt water tanks from development approval to streamline the approval process and to encourage residents to install water tanks for stormwater management and as alternative water supplies for purposes such as gardening.

A copy of the Council minutes and draft policy can be viewed on the public documents section of the Shire of Northam’s website, and draft Policy can be viewed here. 

Comments in relation to the proposed amendments will be accepted by the Shire of Northam, in writing, until close of business on 4pm Friday 25 February 2022.
