The Avon river has many secret spots where you can capture pictures of the kingfisher to the cute little coots. However, at the best of times, you really don't want to lunge over branches skip over flowers, or walk for miles to find some beautiful birds. At times you just want to walk a short distance pull out the camera and click away.
The swing bridge I find fixes that problem, the small sparrows will be your delight to watch as they fly low across the water. Then when you look out towards the iconic flower mill your eyes are dazzled by the many coots and pacific ducks. The swans are like a treasure hunt, they gracefully glide from water to land and if you are lucky they will approach you on the shore.
After many times visiting the swing bridge, I find its perfection the animals have been the best models. Then when you are done you can walk to the local cafes located on the other side. The best place for a photographer's lazy day.
