EXTENSION OF UNRESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD

The Shire of Northam wishes to advise that due to favourable fire weather conditions, the unrestricted burning period has been extended to 23:59hrs on 12^th October 2025. After this date (from 00:01hrs on 13^th October 2025) a Permit to Burn will be required. Please note that this is subject to variation at short notice. 

Safety remains a top priority. Here's what you need to know:

1. Keep registering your burns by calling 9395 9209. Your reports are crucial for our preparedness.
2. Fires must still be always monitored by at least 1 adult.
3. Ensure all fires are fully extinguished. Don't take any chances.
4. Although conditions are good, fire risk still lingers. Stay vigilant.
5. Burn in manageable sizes. Let's keep it safe and controlled.
6. Respect fire danger ratings.
7. Call 000 for help early if needed.
8. Have the right equipment on hand. Safety starts with preparation.
