Public Consultation – Northam Town Centre Streetscape Enhancement

The Shire of Northam is undertaking a streetscape enhancement project focused on revitalising key public areas within the Northam Central Business District, with a particular emphasis on Avon Street Mall and the CBD.

This initiative aims to create a more vibrant, accessible, and welcoming town centre that reflects the unique character of Northam and meets the evolving needs of the community. Proposed improvements include upgraded lighting, additional shade and greenery, enhanced seating and outdoor dining options, and a potential one-way street conversion along part of Fitzgerald Street to improve pedestrian safety and local amenity.

The Shire is committed to ensuring that community members have the opportunity to provide input into this important project. We invite residents, business owners, visitors, and other stakeholders to take part in the public consultation process and share their thoughts through the online survey.
