Noise Management Plan 2024

Notice is hereby given for public information and comment that the Shire of Northam has received an application for approval of a Noise Management Plan (NMP) for the Northam and Districts Gun Club Incorporated.
The Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997 have been amended to require shooting venues, who cannot comply with assigned noise levels, to produce an NMP. The NMP is required to undergo a public consultation process prior to CEO approval or otherwise under delegation from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation CEO. The regulations specifically require that the occupier of noise sensitive premises within a 1 km radius of the sporting venue be given reasonable opportunity to make a submission.
If your premises have been identified as being within a 1km radius of the Northam and Districts Gun Club, you will have received a letter in the mail requesting your comment.
Written submissions in respect of the proposal should be made and received by the Shire of Northam by 8:00am on Thursday 4 July 2024.
