Proposed Disposal of Victoria Street Oval (Closed)


PROPOSED DISPOSAL OF LAND PURSUANT TO SECTION 3.58(3) OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1995

The Shire of Northam gives notice of its intent to dispose of the following land by public treaty, in accordance with section 3.58(3) of the Local Government Act 1995:

Lot 189-195 (135-155) Wellington Street, Northam (2.5585 hectares), also known as Victoria Street Oval:

The Shire of Northam intends to dispose of the abovementioned land to Uniting Church Homes for the purpose of aged care services which will include a residential aged care facility, independent living accommodation for the elderly and ancillary professional and administrative support space. The proposed disposal price is $969,000 (ex GST) The Shire of Northam received a valuation in 2018, the proposed sale price is less than the valuation. The sale of property is conditional on the basis that the development approval process must commence within eighteen months of the contract of sale being signed.

Written submissions in respect of the proposed sale may be lodged with the Shire until 5:00pm, Wednesday, 27th March 2019.
