You asked for better access to housing, as well as more autonomy for landowners to develop their properties to offer more housing options.

We have responded by committing over the next 4 years to provide a review of the current Local Planning Scheme 6, to provide urban renewal planning for the Avonvale and West Northam areas, to promote the development of innovative housing solutions for landowners (such as granny flats), and will advocate for the the State Government to provide improved social housing across the Shire.

In addition to the above, we will also facilitate through the local planning framework a variety of housing choices including age-friendly accommodation and lifestyle villages in appropriate locations.
