You asked for...Better roads
You asked for more frequently maintained roads in our rural areas, and more permanent fixes to our ‘problem’ roads.
We have responded by implementing a number of initiatives in our 2022-32 Plan for the Future including advocating for Main Roads to improve safety on the Great Eastern Highway (including turning lanes and associated roads). In addition to this, we will also be conducting a trial of new maintenance grading methodology to maintain unsealed roads, and will be providing a roadworks dashboard on our website to keep you up to date with the most current information about ongoing and scheduled works to complement the existing Road Report module that we recently implemented. It is anticipated that we will begin to implement these changes in the next 12 months, and will see tangible results over the next 2 years.
