Located in the heart of the picturesque Avon Valley, Northam is home to a diverse range of tourist and heritage attractions, including hot air ballooning, cultural experiences, wildflowers, tours & trails, historic buildings, horse racing, white swans, and much, much more.
The Shire of Northam is currently in a RESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD until 12:00am on 15 May 2024. Please be aware that permits for burning are necessary until May 15, 2024. For more information and to apply for a permit, click HERE.

You asked for more events and activation initiatives for locals and visitors.
We have responded by including in our 2022-23 Plan for the Future a commitment to provide a trial of monthly night-time markets over spring, summer and autumn, as well as activities to revitalise and activate Bakers Hill and Wundowie town centres.
We have also committed to partner with the Chamber of Commerce to develop incentives for ‘tourist friendly’ businesses to open on weekends, and will advocate for a national or international ballooning event in Northam every two years, as well as more national, state and regional recreational and sporting events.
