Night Hoops is a free late night basketball tournament with skills training, workshops and a meal for anyone aged 12-18 and lives in the Avon Valley area. The program runs on Saturday nights from 7pm to midnight.
The basketball tournament focuses on participation, engagement and respect while providing young people with opportunities to learn valuable life-skills through the nightly workshops. There are opportunities to establish connections with local volunteers, police, and other service providers in a safe, structured atmosphere where positive behaviour is rewarded and everyone is respected.
The Avon Valley tournament is supported by the WA Police, PCYC, Lifting Horizons and the Shire of Northam. We are always looking for people to come along and volunteer their time. If you are interested in helping to make a difference, even if you don’t know anything about basketball, please register through the Night Hoops website.
This is an initiative of the Shire of Northam, Community Safety Committee. For more information, or to register a player head to: http://www.nighthoops.org/
