The Shire of Northam wishes to advise that due to improved fire weather conditions the OPEN BURNING PERIOD is now in effect as of 12:00pm on 03 May 2024.

The Shire of Northam wishes to advise that works have commenced on construction of a shared path on Mitchell Ave, Northam. Works include installation of a 700m section of shared path between Fernie Avenue and Mount Ommanney Road, with local contractors, GDR Civil delivering the project. This project is jointly funded by the Shire of Northam and Department of Transport through the WA Bicycle Network Grants Program These improvements to Shire roads are a part of a long term project as we extend our bike path network creating safer, more connected roads within our region. Increasing our road infrastructure will encourage active transport options promoting a healthy community utilising sustainable methods. Works of this nature may cause some inconvenience to road users and pedestrians in the vicinity. Please observe traffic management measures on site and drive to conditions.
