Located in the heart of the picturesque Avon Valley, Northam is home to a diverse range of tourist and heritage attractions, including hot air ballooning, cultural experiences, wildflowers, tours & trails, historic buildings, horse racing, white swans, and much, much more.
The Shire of Northam is currently in a RESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD until 12:00am on 15 May 2024. Please be aware that permits for burning are necessary until May 15, 2024. For more information and to apply for a permit, click HERE.

Please be advised that the Northam Suspension Bridge is currently closed.
The Shire of Northam has been awaiting the outcome of an independent structural engineer's report in response to a maintenance inspection in January. The inspection identified an issue requiring preventive treatment to maintain the bridge's long-term structural integrity.
The process has extended beyond the anticipated timeline; however, engineers have evaluated the problem and are currently designing suitable replacement components for the suspension bridge.
We hope to have the bridge open to the public and visitors as soon as possible.
