Located in the heart of the picturesque Avon Valley, Northam is home to a diverse range of tourist and heritage attractions, including hot air ballooning, cultural experiences, wildflowers, tours & trails, historic buildings, horse racing, white swans, and much, much more.
The Shire of Northam is in a RESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD as of 8th October 2024. Burning may only be undertaken with a valid permit, and/or under strict conditions.

The Shire of Northam wishes to advise that works are scheduled to commence on Monday 25 March 2024 between the hours of 9:30am – 1:00pm for the construction of the shared path on Kennedy Street, Northam.
Works include installation of a 200m section of shared path between the corner of Kennedy Street and Moseley Ave and the Northam Senior High School carpark entrance, with local contractors, GDR Civil delivering the project.
Expected completion is scheduled for end of April 2024. This project is jointly funded by the Shire of Northam and Department of Transport through the WA Bicycle Network Grants Program.
Works of this nature may cause some inconvenience to road users and pedestrians in the vicinity. Please observe traffic management measures on site and drive to conditions.
